Giving Lowcountry Veterans the Journey They Deserve
Charleston Honor Flight is a nonprofit organization based in Charleston, SC, with one mission: to honor our local veterans by providing them with a memorable, one-day trip to Washington, D.C. to visit the memorials built in recognition of their service. Many Lowcountry veterans have never visited these landmarks, whether due to cost, health, or time. Our nonprofit program removes those barriers and replaces them with a day of gratitude, reflection, and connection at no cost to the veterans.

A Day Of Honor
The Honor Flight Experience
Each Charleston Honor Flight is carefully organized to create a meaningful, memorable experience from start to finish.
Veterans begin their day with an early morning send-off celebration in Charleston, surrounded by family, volunteers, and supporters. They then board a chartered flight to Washington, D.C., where they are welcomed by volunteers and escorted throughout the day.
During the trip, veterans visit nationally significant memorials, including:
- World War II Memorial
- Vietnam Veterans Memorial
- Korean War Veterans Memorial
- Arlington National Cemetery
Each veteran is accompanied by a trained volunteer guardian who provides support and companionship throughout the journey.
The remarkable day concludes with a reflective return flight home. For many, it’s a long-overdue opportunity for comfort and closure.
Help Us Bring Honor Flight to the Lowcountry
Before Charleston Honor Flight can begin sending Lowcountry veterans on these meaningful trips, we must raise the funds required to launch our inaugural mission.
This first flight will:
- Send a group of Charleston-area veterans to Washington, D.C.
- Establish the foundation for ongoing future missions
- Build a lasting program to serve Lowcountry veterans for years to come
Every donation helps move us closer to takeoff.
Why This Matters Now
The Charleston region is home to thousands of veterans whose military service spans generations. Many have never had the opportunity to see the memorials created in their honor. Launching Charleston Honor Flight means ensuring their stories are recognized, preserved, and honored, starting with our very first mission.
